Rangers defeat ‘a good result’ jokes Mourinho

Jose Mourinho says his Fenerbahce side’s 3-1 defeat at home to Rangers was ‘a good result’ and his team ‘were very bad everywhere.’
Mourinho has won every major European honour, including the Europa League with Manchester United, but has a job on his hands to lift another one this season after Rangers produced a famous win in Istanbul.
But Mourinho says the tie is not over and backs his side to perform much better at Ibrox next week.
“I don’t think it’s fair to say we were bad defensively because we were very bad everywhere,” Mourinho said.
“Maybe you laugh, but for me it was a good result because of the way we performed, the result could have been bigger than this one.
“Defensively we made incredible, incredible mistakes. They defend a lot with a very low block and then had dangerous counters and we had no pace to follow that.
💬 “Jose, what went wrong for your side tonight?”
💬 “Everything.”

“So for me, I have to say that we deserved a punishment of this result. If someone wants to ask me if it’s over, no, I don’t think it’s over.”
‘One of the best ever’
Rangers’ interim boss Barry Ferguson was full of praise for Mourinho after guiding his side to victory.
He said: “It’s only half-time in the tie because Fenerbahce have got one of the best managers that’s ever been.
“I’m proud of the boys because they’ve come through a lot this season. They deserve a lot of credit.
“We need to be ready for next Thursday and, I tell you something, I’ll have them ready.”
